UPDATE: Doomwheel

No comments:
Update time!

The finished Doomwheel (I know the guy on the back is missing, he wasn't glued on when the photos were taken and I didn't fancying taking them all again for the sake of the model missing a relatively unimportant piece)

In the next few days they'll be a post up with all the models I currently own and the Clan and the My Warlord Clan page will be updated showing theses Doomwheel pictures.

If any of you are interested I will put together a painting tutorial for the Doomwheel subscribe and post a comment and I'll get one done.

Let me know what you think...

An attempt at a 1500 list

No comments:

After much re-working of my list I have hopefully what should be a pretty solid 1500 Clan Skree tournament army list:

1500 Clan Skree

Lords

Grey Seer (General)
  •           Earthing Rod
  •           Talisman of Protection

He’s just a pretty cheap and standard Grey Seer; the rod allows him to avoid a costly miscast and the talisman to give him some sort of protection. I like to give him the spells of ruin as since the Engineer will always have lightning he has a good chance of getting the rest of the best spells from the lore (as well as substituting one spell for skitterleap to send the warlock engineer targeting war-machines)

Heroes

Warlock Engineer
  •           Lvl 1
  •           Warp-Energy Condenser

Designed to be skitterleaped around firing off warp-lightning and hopefully generating an extra power dice.

Chieftain
  •           BSB
  •           Enchanted Shield

Standard BSB with the enchanted shield to give him a 3+ save

Core

x30 Clanrats
  •           Spears
  •           Shields
  •           Standard Bearer
  •           Musician

Designed to run into and hold opposing tarpits; nothing too special here

x28 Clanrats
  •           Shields
  •           Standard Bearer
  •           Musician

Bunker for the Grey Seer and where the Warlock Engineer will start out (before he is skitterleaped off)

x29 Stormvermin
  •           Shields
  •           Musician
  •           Standard Bearer
  •           Banner of Eternal Flame

Main hammer unit (if you can call it that); the BSB goes here to alowl this unit to be a bit more independent. Has the banner so it can deal with any units with regen saves

x5 Giant Rats w/ Packmaster
Rat dart designed to help with deployment placement and to act as a redirector

x5 Giant Rats w/ Packmaster
Same as above

x40 Slaves
  •           Musician

Relatively big unit of slaves designed to stay close to the general and hold enemy units until the said unit can be flanked (probably by the stormvermin or the Grey Seer’s unit)

Rare

Doomwheel

Plagueclaw Catapult

Warp-Lightning Cannon
I think all the rare choices are pretty self-explanatory really. There is no Abomb (and will be no Abomb) in this list as while I do think they are a great unit there is no way I’m bringing one to a 1500 event, just doesn’t seem fair in a way (even if it is a competitive event). Between them I should be able to cause enough damage

TOTAL = 1495

Basically the army works by using the warmachines and my magic to damage and distraction while my other units just clean up whatever is left; not a typical sure forward and tarpit Skaven (at least not at 1500). While I appreciate that my numbers may be a little short for Skaven I still should outnumber most armies at 1500 and I’ve got the warmahcine support to back it up (which does fit in with the Clan Skree full).

So! What do you think?

Here's what I've got!

No comments:
Through being extremely busy just after Christmas and finishing off another (non-warhammer related) project I've not had time to start building up this clan yet. So, I thought I'd share with you what I've got to build, paint and get ready for my first Warhammer event (A Gathering of Might on April 14/15th).

All that in the picture amounts to...

  • 1 Plague Furnace
  • 80 Clanrats/Slaves
  • 40 Stormvermin
  • 20 Plague Monks
  • 4 Rat-ogres
  • 1 Doomwheel
  • 1 Plague-claw Catapult
  • Warlord (will be on Stormvermin) Warlitter
  • Many giant rats (extra ones come with the Doomwheel and other kits so I don't, as of yet has a number)

Just a quick note, I'll do a post on this later, but I buy all my Warhammer from Total-Wargamer, they offer a 20% discount and provide excellent service; if you're looking to buy on-line, I recommend them (links on the right of the page)

Welcome to the Clan Skree blog!

Welcome to the Clan Skree blog!

I've created this blog to record and share the encounters of my Warhammer Skaven army; Clan Skree.

At the moment the blog is pretty bare but soon there will be tutorials; updates on the army; different army lists; battle reports and much more...

Over the next few days I will start to add pictures to the army to the 'My Warlord Clan' page.

The progress of my army will also be on project logs on some of the wargaming forums (Warseer, BOLS etc.) but this blog is the only place where you'll be able to find all the content relating to this army.

As there is little content to share at the moment, I'll leave you with a bit of the fluff for my army (found here)

Clan Skree
Clan Skree has set itself up as the servants, attendants and hired muscle of the Grey Seers. When it is time to worship the Horned Rat, it is the skaven of Clan Skree who make sure there are tails on seats in the grand hall, and a fresh sacrifice on the altar. When a youngling is born with horn stubs, it is Clan Skree who takes them away for their training. Clan Skree also form an ecclesiastical secret police.. While Clan Eshin help enforce the will of the Seers throughout the other clans, Clan Skree makes sure that only the most faithful of young Seers rise to the priesthood, and that all of them toe the party line. While the word of the Seerlord is gospel, there are plenty who wish to undermine that position. Clan Skree keeps a watch on these, and thus ensures that the Seers remain united and inviolate. Protected by the Seers, Clan Skree is almost untouchable and will likely never be destroyed – but likewise, the Seers make sure its numbers stay small, lest the servants ever think of replacing their masters.
